Gucci Tribeca Documentary Fund announces 2013 recipients, including DA Pennebaker, Chris Hegedus and Marshall Curry
The Gucci Tribeca Film Institute today announced the nine recipients of its stocks. Now in its sixth year, the Fund provides finishing finances production and documentary filmmaker from all over the world with functions that address the critical social problems. Nine films were selected from 500 submissions from 60 countries for a total of $ 150,000 funds.
The films of this year by a group of filmmakers that reflect a wide range of experiences. Established directors like Marshall Curry ("Run and Gun") and DA Pennebaker and Chris Hagedus ("Unlocking The Cage") are just a few of this year's winners. Others are emerging talents of Jeremy Williams ("On the Razor's Edge"), Grimonprez ("The Shadow World"), James spies ("silence") and Ryan White and Ben Cotner ("Perry v. Schwarzenegger"). The range of topics is presented in these projects as diverse as the subjects of the Libyan revolution, gay marriage, the international arms trade and animal rights.
For the third year Kering Foundation joined with the Fund For documentary highlighting women abundant. The three winning projects by Pamela Yates ("Error"), Beth Murphy ("What's tomorrow"), and Andreas Dalsgaard, Nicolas se & Viviana Gomez ("Demo Crazy"). The award honors films that illustrate the contribution of women worldwide.
